EXCITING NEWS FROM THE JAMIL AND NYANGA JAWARD FOUNDATION

On 7th August 2024, high-ranking officials from the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) visited our headquarters at 18 Sanders Street, Freetown. This significant visit marks a crucial step towards forming partnerships and securing donor support for our mission to bring positive change to the lives of widows and less privileged women in Sierra Leone.

The visit began with a productive meeting between the dignitaries and our CEO, where we highlighted our mission to empower vulnerable women. Our dedicated field officers, Solomon Temgbeh and Hawa Bintu Dauda, shared insights into the challenges faced by widows in our communities, emphasizing the urgent need for financial support to expand our financial inclusion program to over 1,000 vulnerable women registered with the foundation.

Co-founder Mrs. Nyanga Jaward expressed heartfelt gratitude to the NaCSA dignitaries for their interest in our work. She showcased handcrafted products made by the widows, demonstrating their resilience and potential. Dr. Susan Robert, a visiting dignitary and widow herself, offered valuable advice and pledged her assistance to support our growth.

The visit concluded with optimism about potential collaborations to enhance our capacity to empower more widows and less privileged women. This visit not only strengthened our resolve but also highlighted the importance of concerted efforts in addressing the challenges faced by vulnerable women in Sierra Leone.

As we continue our mission, the support from NaCSA and other potential partners will be pivotal in expanding our initiatives and helping more women overcome their struggles to build better futures for themselves and their families.
