Moyamba District is one of the districts in Sierra Leone that has produced a lot of educated elites. The name Professor Joe A.D. Allie rings a bell in your ears; doesn't it? and this is just one of the many that the district has given birth to. The district is also situated on a high deposit of mineral resources and endowed with tropical rainforest, fertile ground, Bati swamp land, and even a mangrove swamp. The predominant occupation of the people of Moyamba is subsistence farming and fishing. Notwithstanding, the paradox is, the district continues to suffer a high rate of poverty, sponsored by bad road networks and sickness and diseases. Every year, the Moyamba Government Hospital records several fracture-related victims, gotten from farming and also body aches. It was from this backdrop that the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation thought it fit to reach out with surgical items and ointments to the people of Moyamba, which will help to provide health care for the less privileged people of the district.
