THE FOUNDERS OF THE JAMIL AND NYANGA JAWARD FOUNDATION MEET WITH CHAIRLADIES OF WIDOW GROUPS TO ADDRESS NEEDS AND PRIORITIES

The founders of the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation conducted a crucial meeting with the chair-ladies of widow groups in Freetown to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs and priorities. The meeting, which took place at the foundation's head office on 18 Sanders Street, was designed to gather vital insights to facilitate the implementation of sustainable interventions tailored to the specific challenges faced by these vulnerable communities.

During the meeting, the widows candidly shared their concerns and daily struggles, highlighting issues such as lack of access to clean water, financial hardships, and inadequate basic amenities. Additionally, Agness Waggay from Crab Town and Mariam Barnes from Congo Town emphasized the devastating impact of floods during the rainy season, which often forced families out of their homes at night, exacerbating their living conditions.

Mrs. Jaward, co-founder of the foundation, expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to directly listen to these challenges from the widows. She assured them of the foundation's unwavering commitment to address their needs and revealed concrete plans, such as securing projects to tackle financial challenges and expanding successful initiatives, including the water tank project, to other communities in need. Furthermore, the foundation intends to extend the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) program and develop various business projects to create sustainable economic opportunities for widows.

The meeting concluded with heartfelt expressions of gratitude from Catherine Gramby, representing the widows, who thanked the founders for their invaluable support and dedicated efforts. The proactive approach of the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation in engaging directly with the widows underscores the essence of humanitarianism — listening, understanding, and responding to the needs of the most vulnerable. It is a powerful testament to the impact of dedicated humanitarian efforts in bringing hope, dignity, and a better future to those who need it most #EmpowerWidows2024 #TransformativeJourney #EmbracingSupport #FindingStrength #RadianceWithin #ResilientSpirit #EmpoweredWidow #GratitudeUnveiled #WeRiseByLiftingOthers #WidowsResilience #CommunityEmpowerment #Support #Widows #Everyone
